Terms of Service

Effective 2026-04-29. Plain-English version of our standard SaaS terms. The signed document layer is the legal product.

1. The agreement

By creating an account or sending a document through Authii, you agree to these terms. If you're using Authii on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

2. What we provide

Authii is a document-signing service. We let you upload a PDF, request signatures from named recipients via passkey biometric authentication, and produce a sealed PDF that records who signed what, when. We provide no legal advice, and the enforceability of any signed document under your jurisdiction is yours to verify.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of every document you upload. You grant us a narrow licence to store, transmit, and seal those documents on your instruction, and nothing else. In end-to-end-encryption mode we cannot read your documents at all; in standard mode we can technically decrypt them, but we will not, except where required to deliver the service or where compelled by valid legal process.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Authii to forge signatures, impersonate other parties, send unsolicited bulk mail, distribute malware, or facilitate illegal activity. Recipients must have agreed to be contacted by you. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate this section without notice.

5. Pricing and payment

Free-plan accounts have the limits stated on our pricing page. Paid plans bill monthly per active sender, in advance. We'll email you fourteen days before any price change. You can cancel any time and retain access until the end of the paid period.

6. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may close yours for material breach of these terms. On closure, sealed documents remain valid and verifiable offline forever; we will retain your encrypted documents for thirty days and then permanently delete them.

7. Warranties and limitations

We provide the service as-is, with the cryptographic guarantees described on our security page. We do not warrant that any specific signed document will be enforceable in any specific jurisdiction. Our aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court.

9. Changes

We'll email you at least thirty days before changing these terms in any way that materially affects your rights. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
